The Greenwharf Project is a collaboration between the City of Santa Cruz and the University of California at Santa Cruz. Below are our sponsors, without whose help none of this would be possible.
In the Summer of 2010 the Center for Information Technology Research in the Service of Society (CITRIS) funded a research project to install a demonstration and research platform called Greenwharf on the Santa Cruz wharf. CITRIS is one of the California Institutes of Science and Information that combine several campuses in the UC system to focus on a set of research themes. This CITRIS project has been the founding mainstay of Greenwharf funding resources.
The Corporation for National & Community Service supports the Greenwharf Project under their Learn and Serve America Program through both direct funding and through the IDEASS class that takes on student projects related to the Greenwharf.
The UCSC Carbon Fund is a student-run agency that raises money to fund green initiatives. The Greenwharf Project was among several groups selected to receive a grant in 2011. For more information, click here.
A team from the Center for Sustainable Energy and Power Systems in the School of Engineering combined with the Environmental Studies Department have been working with the project since the Fall of 2009.
